The various Celebrity Fashion Events and their Influences

Today, the whole world follows one or the other celebrity’s style statement and fashion. For years commoners have followed the way celebrities have dressed and made themselves up. Big stars like Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Michael Jackson and such names have been influencing the fashion trends with what they wear. Some of their clothes have also set new trends.
The Television and Magazines
People are crazy about dressing up like their favorite stars. A number of people stay glued to their television sets to watch a red carpet event or a award function just to be able to get a glimpse of what the stars have put on to shine more. There are even other sources of obtaining knowledge on celebrity fashion. The businesses of most of the fashion and celeb magazines depend upon these fashion-crazy people. They subscribe to the regular edition just in order to keep track with whatever is new in the fashion world.
The Fashion Events
Moreover, there are several fashion week events held across the globe, where the top class designers come with their latest and hottest designs. These are the ways to publicize one’s own products. In such shows not only the dresses, but the jewelries, footwear, and many other fashion accessories are put on display as well.
To speak of a few such events, once an event was held by Armani releasing two sketches of Lady Gaga in her theatrical costumes, which she would then wear in her Monster Ball Tour. We all know that the ‘Lady’ is famous for her weird dressing sense. She is not much bothered about what her appearance can be like if she wears something. It was in 2009 that the lady came up with a blast.
Most of the fashion weeks across the world influence the way people dress. The London fashion Week for instance, was characterized by the craziness of the people and the way they dressed. However, in the recent times this event has come up with some of the best designs and elegant styles of the respective years. As a result, a lot of people have been following this event regularly and trying to dress up accordingly in parties etc.
On the other hand, there is the famous Burberry fashion show, which was a 3D venture. Burberry is one of the most prestigious labels from Britain. They arranged for the show in the hearts of their favorite London, while they made a special live projection to their fans in cities like New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Dubai, and Paris. People wore 3D glasses to get the actual feeling of the show.
Across the globe, there are many such divas and stars whose fashion and styles are blindly followed. They are scrutinized closely and their dressings and jewelries kept track of. All over the world, there are several ways of getting information on their fashion and style.
One must, however remember that what looks good on your star might not suit your physical built and age at all. Therefore before choosing a dress for yourself always take your age and built under consideration.

Boots beat the cold every year; and this year, rocker boots are tougher than ever. With their characteristic metal spikes and studs, they epitomize the "no bull" attitude and demand respect. If you're into being rocker chic, these boots are the perfect addition to your fall/winter wardrobe. Ash, Steve Madden and Frye are only a few designers that are heading up the biker boot trend. Another style craze in boot fashion leans toward a more earthy, tribal look reflecting the new "Wild West". A cowboy boot shape with Native American textiles and patterns give these boots a rustic, colorful twist on standard fall/winter attire. Plus, everyone likes to play "Cowboys and Indians"! Check out the Wild West trend at Free People, Urban Outfitters, Aldo and more.

Dress up any fall/winter outfit with a pair of velour shoes. Ballerinas, wedges and stilettos are warming up your feet with one of the softest fabrics out there. How to Dress to Look Your Best at a Wedding

While most of us like to look our best at all times, we want to make a particular effort if we have a wedding invitation. Everyone knows that the wedding day belongs to the bride; nevertheless, women in particular, like to make a special effort when they are going to a wedding. Your choice of outfit may depend on the type of wedding you are attending, and whether any special dress code has been stipulated. Unless you are attending an extremely formal wedding, any length and any colour dress apart from white, should be acceptable.

For Her: Gloves – to Wear or Not to Wear
Again, depending on the formality of the occasion, you may want to wear silk gloves that match the colour of your dress. Gloves look better and keep their shape for longer if you have silk glove liners. Normally, only the bride and the bridesmaids will wear gloves to a wedding, a lot depends on whether any particular dress code has been stipulated. A very formal, long dress, for example, is usually enhanced when the wearer has matching gloves. Only wear opera length gloves with a strapless, formal dress, otherwise, stick to gloves that are wrist length.

Weddings in the Day Time
An increasing number of brides want a day time wedding with a sit down meal and no evening entertainment, especially if they want to get off on their honeymoon on the same day. If you are attending a less formal day time wedding then a shorter dress or a suit should mean that you look your best without going over the top on the day. Business suits are okay if the wedding is in the morning with just a brief reception afterwards. Too much bling and too many sequins are a definite no for day time weddings as you don’t want to take the sparkle away from the bride. Just a reminder, black is not really suitable for day time weddings. Equally, at an informal wedding you may not require either gloves or silk glove liners

If you have been invited to a wedding during the day and an informal disco and buffet in the evening, you might want two outfits. In cases like this you might choose to wear a suit during the day and a dress or trousers and fancy top for the evening’s entertainment. Try to avoid clothing that is overtly sexy or see through as these are not usually acceptable, even for an evening buffet and disco wedding do.

For Him: Tails, Shirts and Jeans
Male guests may be required to wear a top hat and tails to a very formal wedding. If you have been invited to such a wedding, and have been asked to play the role of usher or even best man, then silk shirts may be the order of the day.

Informal does not mean jeans and a tee shirt, a dark suit and perhaps a contrasting shirt should be fine. Black shirts are not acceptable wedding wear, even if it is only a buffet and disco to which you are invited.

Autumn-Winter 2012 Trends

This summer we`ve all been enjoying the comfort and flow of the luscious maxi dress and the nautical touch of stripes, but what fashion trends can we expect to be hankering after when the cold weather sets in? Here`s our guide to key trends for autumn winter 2012.

Big is beautiful - particularly when it comes to coats. These, trousers and hips all get the oversized treatment this winter. Catwalks were, quite literally, full of voluminous coats. Often double breasted, these were anything but skin tight. Effortless to wear, this is one key trend you`ll be oh so grateful for come the windy weather. Not one for the faint-hearted, baggy leather trousers were also a common theme, seen from Sportmax and Mulberry. Many designers also exaggerated hips on dresses and skirts.

Pick a pattern - a winter wardrobe staple is the oversized jumper with bold, geometric print. Cuddle up in a statement knit and, this year, the louder the better. Trouser suits are an evergreen, but don`t be a plain Jane. However utilitarian the structure, be sure your two-piece has a look of luxury and glamour with elaborate brocades and appliqués. Another print theme making an appearance, the swirly prints of the psychedelic seventies were also seen from Miu Miu and Marc Jacobs among others.

Belt up - with volume the watch word of the season, belts come into their own once more. Whichever style you choose, stay on trend by keeping it on show on your outer layer. Mulberry and Marc by Marc Jacobs among others showcased the wonders of the belt in fantastic style.

Watch the birdie - every season has its favourite animal theme, whether by prints or design. By winter you can forget summer`s favourite the flamingo and opt for an owl. Make it big and bold for maximum impact. The models of the Mulberry Porsum runway, wore theirs with pride.

Anyone for polo? - layering is so often top of the agenda for the colder months and, this year, make your base layer a classic polo neck. Keep it simple and comfortable in an ultra-fine fabric.

Colours of the season - burgundy is this season`s wardrobe staple, as an alternative to black. Black on the other hand will be bang on trend when paired with navy blue.

Love lace - luxurious and detailed fabrics dominated the runways of spring summer 2012 and, with luxury and detailed fabrics in the spotlight for autumn winter, continues to be a popular choice. Choose lace inspired accessories such as the stunning Dolce et Gabana ankle boot.

The thighs have it - most designers agreed that longer is better. You can`t go wrong this autumn with a knee length skirt or dress like these at Couture Candy. Whichever style you choose, think luxurious and ornate fabric, add a belt and you will be well on your way to mastering the look of the season.

Winter Sports Clothing Guide

Even in sub-zero temperatures, celebrity snow fans Victoria Beckham, Paris Hilton and the Jolie-Pitt family always manage to stay top of the style stakes with relaxed layering. The good news is that you don`t need to be an A-lister to achieve a great winter sports look.

While there is lots of room to express your individual style, you should make comfort and safety your priority. That means ensuring you stay warm and protected with three layers of clothing. The foundation of any great winter-sport ensemble is a base layer. Usually skin-tight, base layers often feature technology to enable the fabric to wick away any moisture your body creates as you tackle a black run or two. Cotton is a fabric to avoid in the base layer as this traps rather than releases moisture.

A mid layer will provide warmth and insulation. This layer should be looser than the base, but make sure it maintains contact with the base layer to ensure that moisture can be removed. Fleece, polyester and wool are good choices. When you`re taking a break from sport, this layer is likely to be on show so opt for something that expresses your style. You`re likely to work up a bit of a sweat, even if you do spend more time armed with a hot chocolate than ski-poles, so check out styles with pit-zips and breathable sections for extra comfort.

Outer layers are designed to protect you from the elements. In the past, skiers and snowboarders have adopted quite different looks but today both are often seen going for a very relaxed, skate-wear inspired style. For your safety, always choose clothing designed specifically for winter sports. Even celebrities don`t sacrifice comfort for style on the piste.

Despite the day-glo image of ski-wear of the past, things have moved on. In winter 2012, expect to see more simple designs, some with discreet geometric or Nordic patterning. The palette is varied but with no shortage of urban tones such as khaki and grey sitting alongside greens, blues and yellows. To add a touch of glamour, look for outer layers with faux-fur sections, a look often to be seen on Paris Hilton.

Accessories and footwear are a great way to express individual style, so be creative. Headgear is a must in the chilling wind. Headbands are a popular choice but a beanie is always a good option during sports and downtime. Slouch beanies are still a favourite and the choice of Kate Hudson in Aspen during a recent trip. No celebrity worth their salt is ever seen without shades and neither should you be. Snow glare can be painful and damaging to the eyes so invest in sunglasses or goggles designed for the purpose.

Off the slopes, relaxed layering is the order of the day too. For both men and women, graphic tees, fleece hoodies and beanies are an ideal off-piste look. Complement the look with performance footwear such as Etnies shoes, a firm favourite among snowboarders.

Fashion Television Shows

Fashion is a big part of our society, so it only makes sense that it would be part of our television lineup. From makeover shows to fashion competitions, there is a little something for everyone out there. Here is a list of five sure-fire fashion-related shows that are sure to entertain and provide great fashion advice.

“Project Runway” – Spirited aspiring fashion designers, sassy judges, creative garments, and Tim Gunn – all things you’ll find on Lifetime’s hit reality show, “Project Runway.” Watch as a group of aspiring fashion designers battle to become the next big thing in fashion, while forging friendships and making enemies along the way. Each week, contestants are given an assignment by hostess Heidi Klum and mentor Tim Gunn, and at the end of the allotted time, there is a runway show and subsequent judging session by Klum; fashion designer Michael Kors; journalist and former fashion director for “Marie Claire” and “Elle” magazines, Nina Garcia; and a guest judge relevant to the challenge. For fashion and drama all rolled into one, tune in to “Project Runway” Thursdays at 9/8c on Lifetime.

“America’s Next Top Model” – The road to becoming a top model is a hard one, but it can also be fun to watch. Join supermodel Tyra Banks as she mentors model hopefuls in “America’s Next Top Model.” Each episode features fashion shoots (mini-challenges and the main photoshoot), drama in the house the hopefuls share, and, of course, lots of fashion. The winner of it all gets a premiere modeling contract and a cover shoot for nationally distributed magazine. Watch as the competition unfolds in the Cycle 19 premiere on Friday, August 24 at 8/7c on the CW.

“What Not to Wear” –  Fashion moguls Stacy London and Clinton Kelly turn fashion offenders into fashionistas on the popular TLC show, “What Not To Wear.” This show follows fashion victims whose family and friends nominate them for a makeover in New York City with Stacy and Clinton. Each week, a new participant learns more than the difference between a pencil skirt and an a-line skirt; they learn a lot about life, confidence, and happiness. Although the outcome of the show is usually serious and inspiring, there are plenty of wisecracks along the way, courtesy of Stacy and Clinton. Tune in to watch these life-changing makeovers on TLC Tuesdays at 10/9c on TLC.

“How Do I Look?” – Looking for a makeover show with a slightly different flavor? “How Do I Look?” also offers a makeover/lifestyle change forma, but it has a little sassy twist in the form of host Jeannie Mai. Mai takes fashion train wrecks through the real reasons for the way that they dress, and, with the help of two friends/family members and one fashion expert, she transforms the fashion criminals into upstanding, fashionable citizens. At the reveal, Jeannie and the good people from “How Do I Look?” usually offer a gift to the participant to help them achieve the goal from which their bad fashion was preventing them. For these inspiring stories and a little sass, catch Jeannie on “How Do I Look?” on Style Network.

“Fashion Star” –Check out “Fashion Star,” a competition-style reality show in which aspiring designers vie for the chance to win a $6 million order for capsule collections in H&M, Macy’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue. The aspiring designers are mentored by Jessica Simpson, Nicole Ritchie, and John Varvatos. Unlike the traditional runway shows in “Project Runway,” “Fashion Star” offers high-energy, explosive shows with music and creative lighting. For something a little different than your average fashion show, tune into “Fashion Star” on NBC.
